The optimal partner for hospitals
to face challenges together
Yutaka Suzuki, President and CEO, MC Healthcare Holdings, Inc.
Everything is for the care to patients.
MC Healthcare Group consists of its holding company, MC Healthcare Holdings, Inc. and four major operating companies. Based on the corporate philosophy of “contribution to society,” “sustainable growth,” and “an aspirational corporate culture,” the Group is engaged in various business activities to contribute to patients, hospitals, healthcare professionals, and society under the vision of “Future Vision 2030,” our vision for the year 2030.
MC Healthcare, Inc. supports hospital management through the three pillars of “procurement and management of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals,” “group purchasing,” and “procurement and maintenance of medical equipment.” MC Medical, Inc. develops, imports, and sells state-of-the-art medical equipment and medical supplies that contribute to the quality, safety, and efficiency of medical care. Freeill Co., Ltd. contributes to regional medical care and corporate health management through rental services of mobile CT and MRI units. These three companies, which cover the entire medical distribution process from upstream to downstream and have a proven track record, work together to provide comprehensive support for the medical frontlines, each with its own unique approach. In addition, MC Healthcare China (MC Healthcare China Co., Ltd.) is engaged in business activities aimed at contributing to medical care in both countries as a bridge between Japan and China.
At the core of our business activities is our belief that "everything is for the care to patients." Based on this belief, all our employees have strived to support the efficiency of hospital management and the improvement of the quality and safety of medical care by working together with hospitals to confront the challenges they face at any given time.
A rapidly changing environment and challenges faced by hospitals
In 2025, Japan has become a super-aged society where one in five people is aged 75 or older (the "late-stage elderly"). Due to policies to curb growing social security costs, it has become more difficult than ever to steer the management of hospitals. Not only that, based on the establishment of a comprehensive community care system and the progress of the regional medical care concept, major reforms centering on regional cooperation and functional reorganization of hospitals are now underway. Furthermore, responding to the "Work Style Reform for Physicians," which entered full-scale operation in April 2024, has become an urgent priority, and hospitals face the extremely difficult task of balancing the improvement of working conditions for healthcare professionals with management efficiency. Compounding these issues is the increasing uncertainty of the external environment, including soaring energy and commodity prices, serious labor shortages, and the growing threat of cyberattacks targeting hospitals.
Against this backdrop, there is an ever-increasing need in the clinical environment for not just "goods" (products) but also "solutions" (intangible value) to resolve the mountain of management issues.
Our mission: Toward the "realization of sustainable medical frontlines"
MC Healthcare Group has established a Sustainability Management Policy in 2023. Through our business activities, we will address eight materialities (key issues) to contribute to the "realization of sustainable medical frontlines."
In addition to further evolving the support we have provided to acute-care hospitals—such as streamlined in-hospital distribution of medical supplies, reducing costs through group purchasing, and supporting the introduction of cutting-edge technologies—we believe it is our important mission to optimize and streamline healthcare distribution. Furthermore, we aim to contribute to the optimization of regional medical management, creating environments where healthcare professionals can focus on their primary duties, and ensuring "uninterrupted medical services" (continuity of care) by strengthening Business Continuity Planning (BCP).
In particular, responding to disasters and emerging infectious diseases is a theme of high interest for healthcare organizations. The Group has previously responded to many earthquakes, floods, and emerging infectious diseases, and is preparing to meet the demands of hospitals in the event of an emergency by continuously reviewing its BCP, securing transportation routes, and strategically stockpiling relief supplies.
The challenges faced by hospitals, such as the arrival of a super-aged society, earthquakes, floods, and outbreaks of emerging infectious diseases, change with the times. Looking to the future of the medical industry as a whole, we believe that our mission is to quickly identify these changes and the needs of the medical field and provide a full range of solution services. MC Healthcare Group will continue to contribute to society as the best partner by working together with medical institutions to overcome the various challenges they face.
